in a forest
Tea for the Tillerman / Cat Stevens
The horse reared suddenly and Alex had to adjust so as not to be thrown. It didn’t take long to gain back control, but there was no apparent reason for the horse’s reaction to begin with. All instincts and nerves were alerted. Horse and rider now froze like a rabbit, listening, looking, but there was nothing. Still, Alex was reluctant to merely move forward, something had spooked the horse and she still didn’t want to progress. There were times Alex would have spurn the beast forward, but something this stop made that feel like a bad decision.
It was only a moment passed when the movement in the brush, spooked the horse again and she began to back up. But this time Alex had seen it too.
Who’s there? Why do you hide? Alex’s voice rang out loud in the now still wood. No reply came. Alex decided to count 20 and try it again, there was no real rush, this game could be played all night.
